Notably, movie stars know that fat cells, stem cells and PRP can remove wrinkles. You may have wondered how famous persons manage to look younger for longer. The trick is the procedure I am describing here. In general, treatment of wrinkles by injecting a mix of fat cells and stem cells was introduced around 15 years ago. Certainly, traditional facelifts by plastic surgeons are often no longer necessary. Specifically, wrinkles happen, because we lose subcutaneous fat in the face from bombardment by UV light. In detail, it penetrates the skin and over the years causes subcutaneous fat atrophy. In particular, this in turn causes wrinkles and a hollowed-out appearance of the face.

The procedure
The most logical procedure is not to cut skin away as plastic surgeons do with facelifts. Rather, the surgeon wants to inject the missing fat cells. However, transplanted fat cells alone will not survive very well. They need the support of stem cells that assist fat cells to hook up to the blood circulation. When fat cell transplants obtain blood from new blood vessels, they survive a lot better.
Platelet rich plasma (PRP)
What does PRP do? This abbreviation stands for “platelet rich plasma”. The physician takes blood by venipuncture and spins it down in a centrifuge. The interphase between the red blood cells on the bottom and the plasma on top is PRP. It contains a lot of platelets with growth factors. Over the years stem cell researchers learnt that PRP is necessary for stem cells to survive. Dr. Weber does this procedure in Lauenförde, Germany. He combines it with low-dose laser therapy, which leads to better survival of the fat transplant. His clinic has been certified by the Paul Ehrlich Institute.
Best source of stem cells
The easiest stem cell source consists of the mesenchymal stem cells from fatty tissue. The physician obtains them by doing a liposuction from fatty tissue anywhere in the subcutaneous fat. With the help of a cell separator the fat separates into connective tissue, fat cells and adipose-derived stem cells (mesenchymal stem cells).
The physician marks the lower aspect of the wrinkles with a marker. He injects the marked areas with a local anesthetic. A puncture opening is made with a sharp needle at the marked areas.
Removal of wrinkles and recreation of subcutaneous fatty tissue
Subsequently the physician uses a blunt cannula with a hole on the side of the upper end. He moves the cannula up to the upper end of each wrinkle and injects the mixture of fat cells, stem cells and PRP. During the injection the cannula is slowly pulled down, which removes the wrinkle evenly. The wrinkles disappear immediately with this procedure. In essence, this is the procedure of the stem cell face lift. A youthful appearance results from the removal of wrinkles in association with the recreation of normal subcutaneous fatty tissue.
Low-dose laser therapy
The physician tells the patient to apply low-dose laser therapy to the area of treatment in the face. The Weber watch is attached to the wrist (volar aspect) and the patient uses the extension massaging the skin with the wrinkle treatments. Dr. Weber showed that low-dose laser treatment stimulates stem cells. This encourages new blood vessel formation and better survival of the fat transplant. The physician can always treat residual wrinkles or future wrinkles using the same method. The result is a more youthful look of the face.
Conclusion
Exposure to ultraviolet light (UV) is the reason why people lose subcutaneous fat in their face through fat atrophy. This results in a hollowed-out appearance. At the same time wrinkles occur, because subcutaneous fat is missing resulting in excessive skin forming wrinkles. Fortunately, plastic surgeons developed a procedure where a combination of fat cells, stem cells and platelet rich plasma (PRP) are injected right into wrinkles.
